About the company
Based in San Francisco, California, Bigscreen is the leading manufacturer of the PC VR headset called Beyond 2. The company was founded in 2014 by Darshan Shankar and the first software product was shipped in 2016. They also runs the original Bigscreen social app for watching the films and TV within your VR. Everything related to the hardware is sold direct from their own Shopify store. The current model is the Beyond 2 which has the eye-tracking version called the Beyond 2e.
Key reasons to choose Bigscreen Beyond 2:
- Small and light enough vR headsets that people even forget that they are wearing one.
- Over 50K unit shipped to more than 50 countries.
- Beyond 2 is “the world’s smallest VR headset.”
- The IPD is now mechanically adjustable.
- Dual micro-OLED panels give a 500,000:1 contrast ratio.
What a Beyond 2 order actually costs
All the prices are in USD and shown before any local tax or duties. The Bigscreen sells one-time VR hardware, so there is no billing period.
- Bigscreen Beyond 2 ($899.00): It is base confirmation. It is the 107-gram core headset with 2560 x 2560 per eye, 116-degree diagonal FOV and adjustable IPD. The VR comes with the soft strap, fibre optic cable, link box and IPD tool.
- Bigscreen Beyond 2e ($1099): It adds eye tracking feature. Enjoy the same optics, plus eye tracking and dynamic foveated rendering, which Bigscreen shipped in December 2025.
- Bigscreen Beyond 2e VRChat Edition. It is available at $1,149.00 for the headset. The translucent purple limited run made with VRChat.
Apart from these three, the company also sells Universal-Fit Cushion, Custom-Fit Cushion, Audio Strap, Prescription Lens Inserts, and Halo Mount with Universal-Fit Cushion. It costs $60, $120, $89 and $180 respectively. You can also purchase the Link Booster, Link box and few other accessories.
PS: You should pick the $60 Universal-Fit Cushion with the Beyond 2 at $959. It is $60 less than the price that most write-ups quote. That is the single largest legitimate saving on this store right now.
How it stacks up against the other high-end PC headsets
| Headset | Price, headset only | Resolution per eye | Tracking requirement |
| Bigscreen Beyond 2 | $899 | 2560 x 2560 | SteamVR base stations 1.0 or 2.0 |
| Pimax Crystal Super | $1,599 | 3840 x 3840 | Inside-out, Lighthouse optional |
| Shiftall MeganeX superlight 8K | $1,899 | 3552 x 3840 | SteamVR base stations 1.0 or 2.0 |
Questions buyers actually ask before ordering
How often does Bigscreen actually cut the price?
Twice in roughly three years of selling hardware. The first was on Black Friday 2024, and the 2nd was on July 2026 during their anniversary sale. Otherwise, the price remain same most of the time.
How fast does an order really ship?
According to the Bigscreen’s blog post, they takes 1 to 3 day for the shipping, but the store’s announcement bar still reads “Order now, ships in 3-4 weeks”. Please reach out to the support team if you are not sure.
What is the cheapest way to configure Beyond 2 VR headset?
Please take the $899 worth of VR headset with the Universal-Fit Cushion ($60), so it costs $959 in total. Adding eye tracking later is not possible, so that $200 decision is the one to make up front.
